SEVNNA TEXTILE is releasing a 2027 pilling-resistance sportswear fabric development program for brands seeking cleaner surface appearance and dependable performance through repeated wear.
Pilling develops when loose fibers become entangled on a fabric surface through rubbing and wear. For leggings, training tops, sports bras, running apparel, golf clothing and hiking layers, visible pills can reduce perceived quality even when the garment remains usable.
The new program starts with yarn selection and knit engineering rather than relying on a single finishing claim. Fiber blend, filament specification, yarn structure, knit density, surface texture, brushing, dyeing and finishing can all influence the final result.
Pilling resistance must be connected to a defined test method and customer target. Depending on the project, evaluation may reference recognized methods such as ASTM D3512 random-tumble pilling or ASTM D4970 Martindale pilling. The selected method, test duration and required rating are agreed before the result is described in a product specification.
SEVNNA TEXTILE can also coordinate related checks for abrasion, stretch and recovery, dimensional stability, appearance after laundering and colorfastness. A fabric that performs well in one test is not automatically suitable for every garment, so the application and construction remain central to the recommendation.
The 2027 program is intended for yoga, gym training, running, cycling, golf, tennis, padel, hiking and athleisure products. Brands can specify whether the priority is a smooth technical face, a soft hand feel, compression, lightweight breathability, opaque coverage or a textured fashion surface.
MOQ is reviewed flexibly by article, color and customization route. Selected fabrics may also have color cards available for faster initial review.
